John FitzGerald
Adjunct Professor, Trinity College Dublin
John FitzGerald is an Honorary Fellow and adjunct professor of economics at Trinity College Dublin, an adjunct Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College Dublin, and a Member of the Royal Irish Academy. He was Chairman of the Irish government’s Climate Change Advisory Council until January 2021. He is a former research professor at the Economic and Social Research Institute. He previously served as a member of the Commission of the Central Bank of Ireland, a board member of the Northern Ireland Authority for Energy Regulation, and President of the Irish Economic Association. His academic research focused on macro-economics and energy and environmental economics.
